Have a listen:
Approximately 20 percent of adults in the United States are living with persistent chronic pain lasting months and even years. Chronic pain, including low back, joint and muscle pain, can affect every aspect of daily life. Recent studies suggest it’s even more common than diabetes, hypertension, and depression.
The good news is that there's freedom from pain, and the secret is not found in a prescription or surgery: it’s movement.
On June 4, Certified Manual Physical Therapist Tony Matoska will be available for interviews. He will tell your listeners his PT-approved tips for effectively managing and treating pain. In this segment, he will discuss the following:
Daily exercise: why staying active is the best way to help prevent and reduce pain, including walking, weight training, yoga, Pilates, biking and more.
Lifestyle factors: ways in which sleep, nutrition and stress management impact chronic pain.
Physical therapy: how you can find a holistic, tailored approach to treating pain, often without even needing a referral from a doctor or prescription to start treatment.
