Wireless Wednesday Exclusive: Hurricane chaser, Josh Morgerman
Talking to a "hurricane chaser."
Better known as “iCyclone” or “the hurricane man,” renowned storm chaser Josh Morgerman has braved dozens of hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones around the world in the interest of science. In fact, he actually owns the world record for being inside the eye of 67 hurricanes or typhoons. The Harvard-educated television personality also built a hurricane resistant dwelling in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, which was devastated during Hurricane Katrina.
According to the National Centers for Environmental Information, eight out of the 10 years with the highest number of natural disasters has occurred in the last decade. Since 1980, there have been 332 natural disasters that have caused over a $1 billion in damage, including 160 severe storms, 57 tropical cyclones or hurricanes, 36 floods, 30 droughts, 20 wildfires, 20 winter storms and nine (9) freezes. There has never been a greater need to build climate resilient homes.
Live from Las Vegas at the annual International Builders Show – the largest light construction trade show in the world – storm chaser Josh Morgerman is showcasing the benefits of building climate resilient homes, which are protected from extreme weather, fire, pests and water.
