Maker Faire Atlanta in September
Maker Faire Atlanta 2019 is one of the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth for those looking to showcase inventions, creativity and resourcefulness for all “makers” alike. Makers range in all ages and backgrounds from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers and more. Makers will be gathering in September between Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th at Georgia State Stadium (775 Hank Aaron Dr., Atlanta, GA 30315).
The Call for Makers has opened up and is inviting people to exhibit, give presentations or performances for the upcoming faire. They recognize makers enjoy talking and sharing their knowledge with other so they are inviting those who are interested in being speakers, lead workshops, exhibit, make demonstrations and more to apply on their website.
Registration for Maker Faire Atlanta is coming soon, with General Registration opening up in August. The event is free to attend but those who plan on attending must register in advance to help with their planning. If you would like more information you can visit the Maker Faire Atlanta website at www.atlanta.makerfaire.com. You can also stay up to date with them by following them on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine. The event demonstrated the popularity of making and interest among legions of aspiring makers to participate in hands-on activities and learn new skills at the event. The family-friendly faire has around 200,000 people annually attend the two flagship Maker Faires in the Bay Area and New York. In 2017, over 190 independently-produced “mini Maker Faires” plus over 30 larger-scale Featured Maker Faires have taken place around the world, including Tokyo, Rome, Shenzhen, Seoul, Pari, San Diego and more.
Southeast Makers Alliance is a non-profit focused on educating the public about the Maker Movement in the Southeast and its value to communities, schools and businesses. Our board is comprised of a dedicated group of makers from the academic and business communities.
