First Signa Hilton to open in Orlando in 2020
The first Signia Hilton will open in 2020 with a rebranding of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.
With a concept assembled from the whims and critical feedback of meeting planners, the new Signia brand will place culinary, technology and design at the heart of meetings and events through chef-driven signature dining, a destination bar that captures the essence of the city where each hotel resides and time-savvy room tech like digital room keys. Other tech-driven meetings enhancements are being tossed around—Internet of Things to digital whiteboards. All properties will have a minimum of 500 guest rooms and 75 sf per room of flexible meeting and event space. (If the property has 500 rooms, the minimum amount of meeting space would be 37,500 sf.)
The signature showpiece of each Signia Hilton will be its grand meetings and events spaces, beginning with social lobby spaces that offer a sense of place. Planners can also expect large ballrooms and pre-function areas and a design that inspires with natural light, advanced tech possibilities and indoor-outdoor areas. Small- to mid-size meeting rooms will have their own unique vibe and implement technology that spurs ideas, productivity and collaboration.
“After countless hours of collaboration,” said David Marr, SVP and global head of Full Service Brands at Hilton, in a recent press release, “together, we created Signia Hilton, a brand that will resonate with travelers, ‘wow’ meeting professionals and set a new, elevated standard for the meetings and events industry.”
This will be a be a brand that business travelers, meeting goers and event planners will enjoy.
Wellness will also be a key theme of the Signia brand. An upgraded experience will elevate the meetings experience with infinity pools, state-of-the art spas and fitness classes that integrate Hilton’s Five Feet to Fitness concept.
In addition to the rebranding of Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek to Signia Bonnet Creek, two new-build Signia Hiltons are anticipated to open in Atlanta and Indianapolis in 2021 near major convention centers.
