Special FILA footwear available at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open
For the third year in a row, FILA and the BNP Paribas Open have collaborated on limited-edition footwear styles set to debut at this year’s tournament in Indian Wells. The FILA x BNP Paribas Open Original Tennis 2.0 Knit was designed in navy blue with white and light blue accents, and the FILA x BNP Paribas Open Drifter features a safety yellow strap in “tennis ball material.”
The FILA x BNP Paribas Open 2.0 Knit ties back to FILA’s custom uniform collection for the BNP Paribas Open. The on and off-court staff will be dressed in a range of FILA apparel, accessories and footwear that blend performance and style. Both the limited-edition sneakers and replica uniform styles for ball kids and officials (navy, white and light blue palette) and volunteers (navy blue, green and white palette) will be available for purchase within the FILA retail shop on-site.
In addition, FILA hosted an in-store event on Thursday, March 7 to showcase collections being worn on court by sponsored tennis players during the 2019 tournament. World No. 5 Karolina Pliskova, World No. 7 Kiki Bertens and World No. 12 Ashleigh Barty will be debuting the Acqua Sole collection, which features halter-inspired lines with vibrant colorways such as sharp green, blue curacao and French blue abstract print. Male athletes such as World No. 10 Marin Cilic and World No. 25 Diego Schwartzman will be debuting the Men’s Heritage collection, featuring pops of bright green that hit harder against bold red, white and blue FILA signature stripe tape. Top ranked American male John Isner and Grand Slam Doubles Champion Timea Babos will be showcasing FILA’s limited edition PL Rolando styles, which serve as modern versions of the brand’s traditional red, white and navy colorways in a distinctive, retro style. Collections are available within the on-site retail store and on FILA.com.
