Pinn is a wearable earpiece that fits our 'mobile life'
There is a fine line among average, good and great when it comes to accessories and devices for our smartphones, but all Pinn has set out to do is make you and your mobile device's life happier. That in my opinion makes it a great device and a Kickstarter must.
Pinn, Inc. was founded in 2015 with a vision to design and develop wearable technology that enhances the smartphone experience and eliminates frustrating phone problems like trying to find your phone quickly to get a call. Their first generation wearable product gives consumers an easier way of using the smartphone by providing a clip device that is light, multi-functional and accessible. The company is currently in the process of releasing a new product that is an all-in-one handsfree device for your smartphone. The product is called Pinn, and launched on Kickstarter as of March 21st, 2017.
Pinn is a device that combines key features of your mobile phone and earbuds into a single, go-anywhere clip. You are able to keep the Pinn within reach by clipping it to anything you want whether it be your purse, backpack, pocket, wristband and more. Pinn’s OLED display makes it simple to see which one of your contacts is calling, you can then answer the call by undocking the earbud from the clip then you’re instantly connected to your call.
The Pinn is meant to be an evolution of the mobile headset, to work with any platform, designed to go anywhere and so much more. Pinn works on Bluetooth-enabled device - mobile phone or tablet - on the iOS and Android platforms. It also works as a remote microphone to activate voice commands for personal assistants like Siri and Google Now, which can then be used to dial out or reply to messages. You are able to enjoy your music through either plugging in a headset to the 3.5mm audio jack or wirelessly controlling and streaming music to your mobile phone. One can listen and talk using the Pinn earbud or Clip speakerphone and the device can also function as a camera remote to take individual or group selfies.
An app is available for free to use alongside the Pinn device both on iOS and Android, the app is called Pinn. The app allows one to find a lost or misplaced Pinn by clicking the “Find My Pinn” button in the app. The Pinn will then sound an alert and the LED light will proceed to blink if the Pinn is within Bluetooth communication range. The app also allows the user to customize the Pinn to one’s preference through changing the alert sound and notification options. The app also automatically updates the Pinn firmware with new features.
