Sling turns 2, CEO on Periscope

Sling CEO Roger Lynch was live on Periscope today making announcements, talking about the popularity of Sling TV and what lies ahead for 2017 as Sling TV today turns 2.

Among what was discussed:

Free preview of Sling Orange – This weekend, Sling TV will be free to everyone – no credit card required! The free preview will run from 9 a.m. ET Saturday, Feb. 11 through 3 a.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 13. That means everyone can catch the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead airing on Sunday. Viewers can go to sling.com/watchfree to start sign up.

Free previews of HBO and STARZ – Later this month, we’ll be offering all Sling TV customers free previews of two premiums: HBO and STARZ. We’ll share more information on the free previews, including timing, throughout the month.

Cloud DVR Update – Back in December, we launched our cloud DVR beta program on Roku devices. Soon, we’ll be launching cloud DVR on Amazon and Android TV and mobile devices; with cloud DVR launching on Apple TV soon after.
